Imperial Newbould Indexer

Motorized Spin-Grinding Fixture for Installing Radii and Angles

  With the Imperial Newbould Indexer Spin Fixture you are able to: spin grind, install radii and angles, use on a milling machine, submerge in EDM fluid, and inspect angles or roundness.  The Newbould Indexer is available in A-2 Steel or 440C Stainless Steel.  

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 
Top Side Shotpin
Allows for lock-in indexing every 15 degrees, repeatable within 10 arc seconds. 
Indexing Plates
Simple long lasting indexing plates can be set to combination of minutes, degrees, and seconds.
Adjustable Stops
Two adjustable stops are standard, adding additional stops more than 30 repeatable angles can be used with one setup. 
Zero Null Benefit
Loosening 4 socket head cap screws on rear of the unit allows a +/- 8 degree adjustment from zero setting.
Spindle
Is guaranteed to 50 millionths TIR for one year from purchase date; the face plate is guaranteed +/- .0003" square over 3-3/4"
The V-Block
The V-Block is precisely ground to fit the particular fixture.  A .0004" variance allows sideways maneuvering between the keys.  A 1/4-20 hole at the bottom of the V allows for working without a clamp.  The V-Block can be used both horizontally or vertically.
5C Insert
Standard 5C Insert is ground to fit the particular fixture; the serial number of the Flatspin is ground into the insert.
Submersion
Can be safely submerged into EDM fluid by attaching an air regulator into the grease port and supplying 2 pounds of air pressure.
Motor
1/15 hp variable speed reversible 1800-rpm motor produces a zero to 400-500 rpm spindle speed of the fixture
